Bridal makeup studio
North Paper is a two-artist bridal studio working in skin-first, long-wear makeup for weddings, civil ceremonies and the slow mornings around them.
How we work
Most of a wedding face is decided before any colour goes on. We book longer than the average slot because skin prep, not pigment, is what carries a look through a ceremony, a car journey, three hours of photographs and a dance floor.
You will have the same artist at your trial and on the morning. Nothing is improvised on the day, and nothing is a surprise.
Three directions
Every bride arrives with a folder of saved images. These three are the directions we are asked for most often, described by finish and wear rather than by mood, so you can name one in your enquiry and we can start from somewhere real.
A quiet eye with a definite edge.
The bare one, done properly.
Deeper, warmer, photographs hard.
What can be booked
Booking is by the morning rather than by the face, so the schedule stays honest. Choose the closest lane in your enquiry and we will confirm what your date actually needs.
One full look, reworked as many times as it takes in the sitting, with the final version photographed in daylight and flash. Notes and a product list follow by email.
90–120 min
Your agreed look recreated from the trial notes, a lash application if you are having one, and a matched touch-up kit left with whoever is carrying your bag.
75–90 min
Bride plus up to five people. A second artist joins so nobody is waiting in a robe, and the running order is printed and pinned up in the room.
Half morning
We remain on site through the ceremony and the formal photographs to reset lips, blot base and rebuild anything that a first dance or a tearful speech undoes.
By the hour
A lighter version of your look for a reception day, a welcome dinner, or an engagement and editorial shoot where the makeup has to read on camera all day.
60 min
Travel to your venue is arranged with the booking. Pricing for your date, party size and start time is sent with our reply to your enquiry.
Start to finish
Five stages, spread over months rather than weeks. Knowing the shape of it early is usually what stops the last fortnight from becoming frantic.
You send the date, the venue area and how many faces. We confirm availability and the likely start time before anything is held.
Booked once your dress direction is settled. Bring images, bring your own products, and we work until the mirror agrees with you.
Four weeks out we build the morning backwards from your photographer's first call and send it to everyone who needs it.
We arrive early, set up away from the dress, and finish the bride last so your face is the freshest thing in the room.
A matched kit, a two-minute demonstration for whoever is helping you, and stay-on hours if you have booked them.
Before you write
If your question is not answered here, put it in the message box and it will be answered directly rather than with a brochure.
Check your date
A few details are enough to tell you whether the date is free and what it would involve. Replies are written by the artist who would be with you.
